Frequently Asked Questions

  • Lead time for events certainly varies depending on factors like location, venue, size & scope of work. As we generally book out quickly, we may not be able to accommodate last minute events. We generally prefer at least two weeks’ notice but can often accommodate more urgent requests. For all clients, once we have received the required deposit, we are locked in for your event, whether that’s tomorrow or next year.

  • To “lock” us in for you event date, we require a 50% deposit of the most recent version of your proposal. To ensure the highest levels of quality and service, we limit the number of events we take on in a single day. For this reason, we only guarantee our services once a deposit has been received. We understand that clients may be exploring other options and for whatever reason may not be able to provide a deposit right away. When we receive interest from another potential client while you are weighing their options, we will absolutely bring that to your attention. We won’t ever provide any pressure to sign with us, we believe in honesty and transparency.

It’s important to mention that “locking” us in simply means that we will 100% be there to cater your event on the agreed upon date. It does not mean that you’re locked into the current menu, service type, etc. Things like menu choices, headcount, service type, timeline, etc. can and likely will change as we get closer to your event. Once the deposit is received, we will only adjust it when you tell us to. Want to change an appetizer or main course option? Great! You planned on 100 people but 125 responded ‘yes?’ Fantastic! Each version of the proposal going forward will reflect any and all changes made, and the “Remaining Balance” portion of the proposal will adjust up or down depending on the changes you ask us to make.

  • Absolutely, we do this ALL the time! We can do entire vegan menus or individual vegan meals, same with any other dietary restrictions. When crafting your menu together, let us know any dietary restrictions and we can easily provide options to make sure everyone is fully taken care of.

For religious dietary restrictions: We will always be upfront with what can and cannot do. For instance, we are not a certified Kosher kitchen. However, our staff is well-trained on the popular alternative, Kosher-style catering. If certified Kosher is a requirement, we are happy to provide referrals.

  • Typically, we offer 5 main types of food service: Tapas (or heavy hors d’ oeuvres) Buffet, Family Style (our favorite), Plated and Drop-Offs **LINK to Service Type Page**. That said, we are happy to tailor or combine any of those to better suit your needs. Want to have tray passed hors d’ oeuvres with a stationary Mac n’ Cheese Bar with tons of toppings? Easy! For more detailed information on the main types of food service, feel free to click the links above.
